About

I am a mom of four, full-time Language Arts teacher, and member of Chehalis Tribe.

I vend at art markets, pop-ups, and pow wows. I create earrings, necklaces, pendants, medallions, bolo ties, hats, lighter cases, and more. I bead custom feathers, fan handles, and graduation caps for locals.

My grandmother, Beverly, was a beautiful and strong woman. She grew up during the Great Depression and didn't know much about her Chehalis culture. Her father, my great-grandfather, was stripped his culture when he was sent to Cushman Indian Boarding School as a youngster. Even without cultural knowledge, Grandma was a skilled artisan. She loved making things and passed that love to my mother. It is from them both that I inherited my affinity for creating small things. I am a self-taught beadwork artist.

I am teaching myself how to speak and write the Upper Chehalis language. It is the language of my people and spoken by very few. Since I learn by doing, I am creating video resources I hope others will someday use.

Thank you for visiting and being a part of my journey--bead by bead.
